Kejriwal : The Nayak

After Kejriwal's recent multiple exposé of misappropriate assets and sources of income of people associated, directly or indirectly, to the major politics parties of India, it struck me -
Kejriwal's aspires to don the avatar of the change-maker of the country, pretty much on the lines of the movie Nayak - The Real Hero

See, in the movie, Anil Kapoor plays the character of an ambitious TV camera man, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, who accepts a challenge by the chief minister of Maharashtra to run the state for one day. 
Don't agree? Look at the similarities.



In the movie, Shivaji is a cameraman with a leading news channel and is asked specifically to conduct the interview with the corrupt CM. Here,  throughout the Lokpal bill and other protests, Kejriwal took on the PM and his cabinet of minsters head on. Also, the web is full of tweets and posts from people like you and me stating the obvious- Kejriwal is more of a journalist than a politician.


The movie depicts Shivaji being challenged by the CM to take up his job for a day and experience the problems of ruling a state himself. Kejriwal, on being poked and prodded repeatedly during his protests with Anna, decided to set up a political party of his own.

On becoming the chief minister, Shivaji brings about lots of improvements and quickly becomes an idol in the people’s eyes. In the present scenario, Kejriwal is no less than a hero for a lot of Indians who believe in his ability to bring about the necessary changes.

In addition, Shivaji's actions prompt the leaders of political parties to join hands against him. Going by the rate at which Kejriwal is publicizing our politicians as ek hi thaili ke chatte-batte, I won't be surprised if Congress, BJP etc. do the same.

Where's the filmi angle to all this? Arrey, just like the big players of Bollywood, he too has taken a panga with a 'Salman' (Khurshid). No wonder he has received a 'murder threats' off late!

So, all in all, Kejriwal posits the role of the Nayak of Indian politics. I don't know if he'll ever be a part of the ruling party but at this point of time I can't help but wonder what it'd be like.

Promising Times


Promises. Commitments. You make then everyday. But do you keep them all? Do you run away?

Well, you prioritize some. You throw some away(?). But how do you classify?

                
                   
Lets probe this further. Everything you do in your life, in a day, can be classified into four categories : Urgent, Not urgent, Important, Not important.

You fulfill those first that seem important AND urgent- deadline driven projects, pressing problems; you define them to be of personal or professional in nature. They are the main cause of your STRESS. Schedule them and manage most of your time effectively among these tasks. 

The tasks that seem non-urgent and unimportant are the ones you don't need to or don't have to do. They are Time-wasters. You either delegate them or do away with them. 

There are also tasks that may not be that urgent but important to you, to your well-being. Recreation activities, for instance. As much as you think you can sustain without a healthy dose of entertainment, the truth is that 'All work and no play DOES make Jack a dull boy'. Planning for future is another one as it is pertinent for grabbing new opportunities or preempting threats/challenges. So spend considerable time on it.

So, dearest Jack, manage that little time at your behest, and fulfill those commitments. Win, Jack, win.

The RED letter

Have you ever wondered which of these letters of the English alphabet is your favourite? I know, seems insignificant. But if THAT told you WHAT you were and WHY you were like that, wouldn't you want to know? How would you decide?
So, I asked around a bit.
1) 's' and 'z' are very artistic letters. Plus, they can be used interchangeably for a lot of words (US: organize. British: organise).
And you can't possibly not fall for Z's accentuated pronounciation of 'zee'.

2) o, u, t, i - Letters that are the easiest to write or speak. I am not surprised that 3 of them are vowels.
Oh, and you like 'O'. You like doughnuts or bagels?

3) f and g - the dreaded letters. The most difficult to write. Also, 'f' is used sparingly. Oh f***, used to be used sparingly. ;)
One could also argue that they may be the most artistic letters, especially the way you handwrite them. So if you're fond of them, you may be, well, of a creative mind.

4) R or r -  Now isn't that a beautiful letter. It also adds that rrring to a worrrd!

5) K - Kkkkya?  Seriously? You'll be the next big hot-shot TV/Film producer. It's meant to be. Kinky!

6) Q - Now we're talking. People who like this letter must be extremely different from the rest I believe. Quirky.

7) X or Y - I call them the letters that like to mingle. How seXY is that!

8) A or/and E - Borrring! But then again, we can't do without them.

So, which one's yours?
