WE ARE ALL SPECIAL CASES.

It’s been  three  days since I created of this blog and I haven’t been able to think of a decent topic to write on. I am no writer or philosopher. Honestly, it feels a bit weird to share everything one feels with everybody else. Weird because not everyone is interested in knowing what is going on in your life. Hmmm... Lets break that down.

Look around you and think- Is it not true that people hardly take notice of you if there isn’t anything SPECIAL about you? Something out of the ordinary..

The dictionary meaning of the word 'Special' implies extraordinary, exceptional. It may have varying connotations. Sometimes the special ingredient of your life is something that is conventional, something that is socially acceptable. Sometimes it is something embarrassing, yet capable of setting you apart! In certain cases, the same element can be viewed as positive or negative. Each person has a different definition of being SPECIAL…

Getting praised or appreciated feels special; Being put in charge of a project at work makes a person feel important. Winning a competition feels special. Obviously, it is nice to be on the receiving side, such that you feel important or special. But being the on the giving side has its benefits too. A person who shows appreciation, who gives praise, or who makes another person feel special is providing a valuable service and can be considered a valuable person to the recipient. Being thought of as valuable is a reward in itself.

Before you sit down to reflect on this, I would like to end this post by quoting famous author Chuck Palahniuk,

We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens.

  1. Now, that's a rather special way to start. Thoughtful and ingsightful indeed. And don't worry, you'd always find someone or the other keyed up to read/know the latest that might be going on/the latest that you'd like to share.
    Keep writing!
